My name is Maria McClung, co-owner of Appalachian Electric Bikes in the lovely town of Murphy, North Carolina. I was born in Atlanta. My husband, Dan and I have two daughters and five grandchildren. I spent thirty years in the surgical field and retired a several years ago. I am an active volunteer at Logan’s Run Rescue Thrift Store. We made the move to Murphy from Alabama in October of 2021. The decision to come out of retirement and contribute time and skills to our new community, was an easy choice. We wanted to be an active part of our community, we had the connections and Murphy needed access to electric bikes and (a custom frame shop).
Now, we are the proud owner/operators of Appalachian Frameworks and Appalachian Electric Bikes located on Tennessee Street in downtown Murphy.
Come visit us, Maria
Dan McClung, co-owner and framer, for Appalachian Frameworks and Rambo bikes was born in the mountains of West Virginia and has long to return back to the Appalachian mountains.
The journey had taken me to fly for nearly 21 years in the US Navy. Then a career at Delta Air Lines retiring as a captain in 2005. Having flown for over 50 years professionally my wonderful wife and partner, Maria, have finally been able to get back to our roots here in Murphy, NC.
The opportunity to open a retail store came available this year so we decided to join the small business community of Cherokee county.
All I can say is that it’s been a wild and great ride and we are looking forward to meeting and serving this great community and all the visitors that come to Murphy.
Blue skies and hope to see you soon.
Never let riding up a mountain prevent you from having the time of your life.
